Want to Make the Big Bucks? Become an Economist!
Yesterday's Wall Street Journal had an article about how colleges and universities are starting to fork out the big bucks to get talented economists. At the right college or university, an economist can make as much as $150,000 - $200,000 (otherwise known as widgets) per year. Superstars (what exactly is a superstar economist?) can make up to $300,000.
Why are they getting paid so much? Scarcity! There just aren't a lot of economists out there. I remember when the college I went to actually quit giving economics degrees. Anyway, to all my aspiring readers out there, if you are looking for a career, consider economics.
